"CHOPPED" mp2ym style 2/24

Last night the Teachers Quorum was in charge of our combined Young Men's Activity. We did a "Chopped" style cooking contest where two teams had limited groceries and limited time to create meals. It was meant to simulate a real life situation either out in the Mission Field or otherwise where you don't have access to a store, or you're out of money for food, snowed in, etc. The idea is they had to get creative and make-do with what they had. Zach Williams and Ben Fowler were in charge of two teams and the YM Leaders were there to give advice when asked, but not help with preparation. Zach's team made beef and chicken street tacos that were actually pretty good. Ben's team made Ramen spaghetti with ground pork, hot dogs bits, and a nacho cheese sauce, as well as a baked pancake thing with sausages in it, affectionately referred to as "the poor man's corn dog". Actually not that horrible. Ryan Wood and Cead Nydegger made two desserts that were extremely edible; a lemon cake and an apple spice cake/cookie. The Bishop was brave enough to be the judge. Ben's team won for creativity. All in all it was a great activity, we all had fun and the Young Men learned something. Thanks Dwight for putting it all together.
